Fans are counting down the days until "The Vampire Diaires" returns for season 4 on Thursday, Oct. 11. In order to whet their appetite, The CW has released some photos from the premiere, "Growing Pains." At the end of season 3, Rebekah (Claire Holt) forced Matt's (Zach Roering) car off a bridge, and Elena (Nina Dobrev) "died." However, before the crash Meredith (Torrey DeVitto) slipped Elena some vampire blood, so she didn't die - she was in transition. Against her ancestors' wishes, Bonnie (Kat Graham) decided to save Klaus (Joseph Morgan) by casting a spell that put him in Tyler's (Michael Trevino) body. In some of the new photos, Elena's brother Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) looks concerned about his ex-girlfriend, Tyler/Klaus has a menacing glare, and Elena and Stefan are locked up in a cell.
