Olivia Wilde to be ‘Spider-Woman’ in Sony’s new superhero project

Hollywood actor and director Olivia Wilde has dropped a not-so-subtle hint about her upcoming superhero project where the Marvel fans will be seen as ‘Spider-Woman’ on the big screen.

The star, on Thursday, confirmed that she closed a deal with Sony Pictures to direct and develop a film based on a female superhero character, posting a simple spider emoji on Twitter. Besides, she also shared the picture on Instagram.

A number of female characters have played the role of ‘Spider-Woman’ alter ego over the years, including the original Jessica Drew, as well as Gwen Stacy and Mary Jane Watson.

According to US entertainment site Deadline, Olivia Wilde dropped the news of being a ‘Spider-Woman’, however, it is not yet known which character the studio might go with.

While the Spider-Woman has not been officially confirmed to make her big-screen debut, the Marvel project will definitely see Wilde reunite with Katie Silberman, who co-wrote the star’s directorial debut ‘Booksmart’, a 2019 coming-of-age comedy movie starring Kaitlyn Dever and Beanie Feldstein Source: https://www.daily-bangladesh.com
