The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will take over investigations into actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, the Supreme Court ordered on Wednesday.
According to Indian media reports, the Supreme Court rejected actor Rhea Chakraborty’s petition to transfer the investigation from Patna to Mumbai in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case.
The Bihar government had earlier said that they would recommend a CBI probe into Sushant’s death if the family wanted.
A single-judge bench of Justice Hrishikesh Roy said the Bihar Government was competent to recommend transferring the case to the CBI.
Earlier, Rajput’s father KK Singh’s complaint that Rhea Chakraborty was responsible for abetment of his son’s suicide, Singh also alleged that Chakraborty illegally transferred Rs 15 crore from Rajput’s bank account.
