Disney Nature's Chimpanzee (Movie Review And Guide)

A new True Life Adventure introducing an adorable baby chimp named Oscar and his entertaining approach to life in a remarkable story of family bonds and individual triumph. Oscar's playful curiosity and zest for discovery showcase the intelligence and ingenuity of some of the most extraordinary personalities in the animal kingdom. Working together, Oscar's chimpanzee family-including his mom and the group's savvy leader - navigates the complex territory of the forest. The world is a playground for little Oscar and his fellow young chimps, who'd rather make mayhem than join their parents for an afternoon nap. But when Oscar's family is confronted by a rival band of chimps, he is left to fend for himself until a surprising ally steps in and changes his life forever.
BY AMY: My niece and I watched Disney Nature's Chimpanzee today as part of her home-school unit on African animals. This is one of the most sensitive and beautiful nature films that I have ever seen. Narrated by Tim Allen, Chimpanzee tells the story of Oscar, a young chimpanzee and his family group. The film their  covers heartache and triumphs as they live amongst the wilds of a rain-forest in Africa. The relationship between Oscar and his mother, Isha, is beautiful. My niece was amazed at how much chimpanzee children are like human children. They play, get in trouble, don't like bedtime, and love their mothers. Much like  humans, chimpanzees learn how to survive by watching their family members go about their daily lives; gathering food, making and using tools, finding places to sleep, and protecting each other. By the end of the film, you will have a greater understanding of these amazing creatures.
Disney has created a 19 page Activity Guide with activities, games, and educational sheets to help teach children more about chimpanzees. The  guide has activities for several different age levels and would be a great supplement to keep kids talking about chimpanzees and the natural world. The guide can be downloaded from Disney's Chimpanzee website here. At the Chimpanzee website, you will also find an Educators Guide for grades 2-6, a photo gallerywallpaper downloads for your computer, and more. Disney also has links to the Blu-ray, DVD, Chimpanzee  Book that offers a behind the scenes look at the making of the film, and even 13" Oscar plush. When you purchase the Oscar plush, a $1 donation will be made to the Jane Goodall Institute to help them protect chimpanzee habitats,  educate schoolchildren, and care for orphaned chimpanzees. This film is by turns happy and sad. I won't spoil the story, but be
aware that there are attacks by rival groups, and even some deaths, that my be hard for young children to understand. I would recommend previewing Chimpanzee before sharing it with young children, but I think this film is a wonderful way to help introduce children to the wonders of the natural world. ***  Source: http://disney-at-heart.blogspot.com/http://www.starpulse.com/

Avril Lavigne planning rock 'n' roll wedding

Singer-actress Avril Lavigne is putting a rock 'n' roll spin on her upcoming nuptials with Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger. Kroger, who had a traditional ceremony in mind, said Lavigne has taken control of the wedding plans and wants an unforgettable celebration for her second trip down the aisle, reported Daily Star. "We (grooms) get such an incredibly small chunk in terms of what we can actually participate in... I get control over nothing. I just show up. But I'm glad, because she has...traversed these territories before. These are unchartered (sic) waters for me. So it's nice to have her to guide me through this. "She's got great ideas. I would have gone a little too traditional, I think, and she's giving it a real rock 'n' roll edge. The groomsmen won't be wearing piano neckties (but) let's just say she's taking the bull by the horns and steering the ship towards what is going to be the most unique wedding that the planet has probably ever seen," he said. Kroeger, who announced his engagement to Lavigne in August this year, insists he never envisioned himself settling down. "There was a time in my life that I thought I would never get married. But this definitely took me by storm. Honestly, it was more my idea than hers to get married. I'm just lucky she said yes," he added. Lavigne, 28, was previously married to Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley, and also dated reality TV star Brody Jenner before they split earlier this year. Source: Screen-IndiaImage: flickr.com

She has spent £10,000 on surgery and outfits to look like her beloved dolls

Brizzleleo: Promotions girl Charlotte, 24, went under the knife to get a perfect nose like Barbie's and had her lips plumped. She also dyed her hair blonde, and spent all her spare cash on girlie outfits to complete the look. Charlotte said: "I told the clinic I loved Barbie and I'd love to have that look. It was really painful. "My face was bruised afterwards and it took a few weeks for the swelling to go down. "But when I took the bandages off it was well worth it. Then I dyed my hair blonde. It's completely changed my appearance and I think it looks pretty good. "What girl doesn't want to be like Barbie? I've got a few Sindys as well, but Barbie is much better looking." Charlotte has collected hundreds of dolls, which she keeps in a special room at her Manchester home. She said: "I must have spent thousands on Barbies and all their clothes. Some people may think it's a little weird, but I think it's great. "There are so many. I've got gym Barbie, tropical Barbie, Cinderella Barbie, Chinese New Year Barbie. There's a Barbie for every occasion, and I'd love to have them all" Charlotte got hooked after getting her first one aged three. She said: "Me and my sister would have massive Barbie weddings. I guess I've just never changed." Single Charlotte hopes to find a Ken of her own after splitting with her last boyfriend over her fixation. She admitted: "Boys don't like it that I love Barbie so much. But I don't mind. If the right man comes along he'll love me and my Barbies." Source: BrizzleleoDaily-Protein
