Tamannaah Bhatia on starring in V. Shantaram: It’s a great responsibility

Mumbai, (IANS) Bollywood actress Tamannaah Bhatia will be seen starring alongside actor Siddhant Chaturvedi in the upcoming biopic V. Shantaram and will be seen essaying the role of legend’s second wife-actress Jayashree.

Jayashree is known for her work in unforgettable movies like Dr. Kotnis ki Amar Kahani, Shakuntala, Chandra Rao More, Dahej and more.

Talking about the same, Tamannaah said, “It’s a great responsibility to portray a character rooted in one of the most influential eras of our cinema. And I feel immensely honoured to bring to life Jayashree, as she has been part of such legendary projects and the amount of grace she had was surreal.”

She said that Shantaram built a legacy that continues to shape generations, and decoding his universe has allowed me to witness the brilliance of the man behind the legend.

Tamannaah added: “Bringing a piece of that legacy to the screen is truly a special feeling, and I am thankful for the makers of V Shantaram to see me as Jayashree.”

The makers unveiled a new poster, where Tamannaah features as Jayshree draped in a gorgeous pink Nauvari saree that highlights her effortless grace.

The picture was captioned: “Jayashree - The star of an era. The strength behind a legacy. A chapter returning to history.”

The film is titled, V. Shantaram, is a historical biographical drama that honours the life, spirit and cinematic uprising sparked by one of India’s most visionary storyteller.

The film traces his remarkable journey from the silent era to his emergence as one of the most influential auteurs in Indian cinematic history.

Shantaram is produced by Rahul Kiran Shantaram, Subhash Kale and Sarita Ashwin Varde and directed by Abhijeet Shirish Despande.Talking about Tamannaah, she was last seen in Odela 2 directed by Ashok Teja. Rashmika Mandanna's Italy trip was all about love, laughter & a tummy filled with cheese

Mumbai, (IANS) Actress Rashmika Mandanna rang in the New Year with her buddies in Italy.

During the fun getaway, the 'Animal' actress also got a chance to visit Amalfi, a mesmerizing place in the Campania area.

While they were there, Rashmika and the gang made the most of their time by laughing their hearts out and stuffing themselves with cheese and Tiramisu.

Sharing a few glimpses of her memorable visit on Instagram, the 'Pushpa' actress penned, "You know we went to this beautiful place called Amalfi and it was so so sooooo stunning.. tooo beautiful it was..The sunshine- the lemon trees..Went with the bestest gang ever! Those days were filled with making memories- filled with love and laughter- our tummies filled with cheese and tiramisus (sic)".

The close-up photographs of Rashmika had her posing in a loose gray hoodie, paired with black trousers, making some cute and goofy expressions.

Meanwhile, Rashmika's New Year wish for 2026 included a heartfelt message, urging her 'lovelies' to begin 2026 with love and gratitude.

She posted a photo of herself in a vehicle, smiling warmly at the camera. Rashmika also wore large black-framed glasses, along with a sweater.

For the caption, she wrote: “Happiesttttt new year my loveliesssss!! I know I am late but just wanted to say let's all start the new year with love and gratitudeeeee!! I love you all so so much.”

Work-wise, Rashmika has been roped in as the leading lady in the highly talked about sequel, "Cocktail 2", where she will be seen sharing screen space with Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon for the first time.

Backed by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films and penned by Luv Ranjan, the shoot for the drama is presently underway.

Kartik Aaryan: 'I am extremely lucky to have Ananya Panday by my side'

Mumbai, December 18 (IANS) Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan, who is gearing up for his upcoming film 'Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri' opposite Ananya Panday, said he feels lucky to have her as his leading lady in the film.

Taking to the stage of the movie’s trailer launch event, which took place in the city on Thursday, Kartik said, “I think I am really lucky to have Ananya by my side, who has done such a good job and performed so well.”

He added, “She really deserves a lot of applause because she has truly outperformed herself. In every scene, there is a give-and-take, and the way Ananya has performed in the scenes, and the way she has reciprocated to all the direction that Sameer sir gave, is commendable.”

As Kartik spoke highly of Ananya, the actress was seen visibly overwhelmed.

Talking about Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri: Kartik and Ananya had been on a travelling spree for the movie promotions.

Last month, the two were recently in the city of Jaipur to promote their movie. At a press conference held in Jaipur, Kartik was seen talking about witnessing Ananya’s journey as an actress, especially when asked what it felt like to reunite after seven years, referring to the movie Pati, Patni Aur Woh.

Kartik had recalled how Ananya was just starting out in the industry when they first collaborated, and how today she stands tall with a newfound confidence, sharper craft, and a mature ease that shows both on and off screen.
