Mumbai, (IANS) Kriti Sanon has opened up about her role in “Tere Ishq Mein,” calling her character Mukti the most layered and tricky she has ever played.

Taking to her Instagram handle, the ‘Heropanti’ actress shared a video highlighting the rave reviews for her performance in the film and expressed her gratitude, saying, “My heart is full.” In the caption, Kriti expressed heartfelt gratitude for the audience’s response to her performance. She described her role as Mukti as her most layered character to date, emphasizing the complexity and nuance involved. Sanon wrote, “My Heart is Full..The best feeling for an actor is when the audience connects with every little emotion in between the unspoken words of your character. Mukti is probably the most layered and tricky character I’ve played, and when every beat of her heart reaches yours, it becomes ISHK! Thank you for all the ISHK.”

“Tere Ishq Mein,” directed by Aanand L. Rai and written by Himanshu Sharma and Neeraj Yadav, also starred Dhanush in the lead role. The film follows Mukti, a young woman portrayed by Kriti Sanon, who falls in love with the intense and rebellious Shankar, played by Dhanush. However, circumstances separate them before their romance can fully blossom. The romantic thriller was released in cinemas on November 28 in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

Kriti had earlier opened up about stepping into the layered and demanding world of her character Mukti. She revealed that shooting the pre-climax and climax scenes for Tere Ishq Mein had been both physically and emotionally draining. “Mutki’s character has a very diverse graph, what she starts from, what she ends up becoming, her choices, her decisions.. there are a lot of layers to what she is doing. A lot is sometimes not said, a lot of justification, a lot of things why she is doing what she is, not said in words.”“There are a lot of really intense scenes, the pre climax and the climax, which are very very long. That was very draining and we shot it for about 5-6 days. Both physically and emotionally those scenes were extremely draining. At times when I went back home it stayed with me, I felt extremely drained. That scene is the peak of emotions and probably the most intense bit of the film, and it pulled me down the most.” Kriti Sanon calls playing Mukti in ‘Tere Ishq Mein’ most layered and tricky’ character she has ever played | MorungExpress | morungexpress.com

Sonam Kapoor spotlights fashion from Manipur

Actress Sonam Kapoor recently hosted Architectural Digest’s Global Editorial Director, Amy Astley, for a private dinner in Mumbai, using the event to again spotlight Indian craftsmanship.

For the occasion, Kapoor wore an outfit from the label East, founded by Manipuri designer Easternlight Zimik. Her ensemble was an Akha set from the brand’s Patrons Collection, noted for its refined craftsmanship and subtle details reflecting the textile heritage of India’s northeastern region.

Kapoor has long used her platform on international red carpets and in public appearances to promote indigenous Indian brands, handwoven textiles, and traditional embroidery.

Designer Easternlight Zimik said actress Sonam Kapoor’s decision to wear one of his creations represents a “breakthrough” for the crafts and culture of India’s northeastern region, advocating for its traditional attire to be celebrated nationally alongside the saree.

Zimik, founder of the label East, made the statement after Kapoor hosted a dinner for Architectural Digest's Amy Astley in Mumbai while wearing an ‘Ä€kha Set’ from Zimik's Patrons Collection.
“Today, as our journey progresses, this moment feels like something I always manifested—a breakthrough for our district, our craft, and our culture,” Zimik wrote in a social media post. “For some, this may be just another outfit. But for us, it's cultural evolution.”

A core mission of the brand, Zimik explained, is to bring traditional northeastern attire like the Kashan, Mekhala, and Puan into the mainstream Indian fashion conversation, giving them a prominence equivalent to the nationally recognized saree. “Today, I truly feel that my sacrifices and restless nights are finally paying off,” Zimik expressed.

He emphasised that his brand, which is rooted in Manipur, never sought celebrity approval to validate its traditional wear, but that visibility is crucial. “In a country as beautifully diverse as India, sometimes the presence of advocates in the mainstream becomes crucial - not for permission, but for visibility and deeper cultural understanding,” he stated.

The designed emphasised the power of fashion in championing the “unheard voices” of the country, citing actor Sonam Kapoor as a key influence in bringing Indian culture into the spotlight.
Zimik said the nation's constitution celebrates “unity in diversity,” and it is essential these stories reach every corner of the nation.

“When it comes to fashion, few possess the power to champion the unheard voices of this country like Sonam Kapoor. Her influence helps bring our culture into the spotlight—not through PR activities, but through the support of genuine individuals who believe in our journey and want to amplify our voice,” he said.

The designer described such advocates as being “close to my heart,” adding that their support signifies more than a moment, but “the beginning of a movement.”

“By advocating for these handcrafted garments and revitalizing the heritage weaving skills of our communities, the brand aims to give North East attire a prominent place in India’s fashion lexicon, to inspire cultural pride and wider recognition,” Zimik emphasised.

He thanked stylist Manisha Melwani for her unwavering support and her “keen eye for discovering stories that matter.” Zimik also acknowledged his team. “… my incredible EAST weavers, this year we have achieved so much—more than words can express. One day, I hope to show you just how much you mean to me and how every fiber of your craft is valued. Thank God for everything.” Sonam Kapoor spotlights fashion from Manipur | MorungExpress | morungexpress.com
