Mumbai, Amitabh Bachchan turned philosophical once again, offering a string of thoughts that read like a meditation on time, truth and the marvel of human existence.
The thespian took to his blog, where he spoke of “documentation” as the keeper of moments, the witness to place, time and happenings calling it the “greatest informer” of all.
“Documentation .. the recordist of time place and happening .. now the greatest informer..Do the do .. the undo will do… (sic)”
The octogenarian went on to reflect on the idea of belief, saying that trust rests in the hands of the one who informs, whether “formed or deformed.”
He wrote: “Believability be the ability to believe the informer - formed or deformed (sic).
What followed was a burst of raw admiration for the human body, which he described as “the greatest invention ever.”
“AAHHHHH .. the human body .. the greatest invention EVER .. they that can see inside and beyond it , be the ones blessed ..AND BELIEVED,” he wrote.
The icon is currently seen hosting the new season of Kaun Banega Crorepati. It is the official Hindi adaptation of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? franchise.

Recently, National Award-winning actor Manoj Bajpayee shared how Big B once 'almost got him killed during a stunt' in the show, where the former appeared as a guest.
Sharing the 'funny' incident from over 26 years ago, Manoj revealed how he has had vertigo all his life and how Amitabh had then tricked him into pulling off a stunt that required him to face his fears of heights.
Manoj said, “Amitji once almost got me killed. I have vertigo, intense vertigo. The action director and the director of my then movie, everyone, came to me and asked me to jump from the waterfall that was about 150–200 feet high. They said that they would put a harness on me too. ”Talking about himself, Manoj said, “The man who can’t even stand 20 feet above the ground was being told to go up 150 feet! I refused completely. I said, “I’ll die. I’ll get a heart attack. When no one could convince me, they all went to Amitabh Bachchan to convince me.” Amitabh Bachchan talks about ‘recordist of life’, miracle of human body | MorungExpress | morungexpress.com

Artists create paintings depicting Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan, his son Abhishek Bachchan, his daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and his granddaughter Aaradhya, after they tested positive for the coronavirus disease, in Mumbai yesterday.
Fans across India prayed yesterday for Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan and others members of his movie star family who have fallen sick with the coronavirus as the one-day rise in infections hit a new record without any sign of a peak.
Bachchan, 77, and his son, Abhishek, remained in hospital in Mumbai while daughter-in-law and former Miss World Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and his eight-year-old granddaughter Aaradhya, who also tested positive were at home, quarantined.
The Bachchans are the highest-profile Indians to have contracted the virus, which is spreading faster after a months-long lockdown was eased at the end of May to revive a battered economy.
Special rituals were performed in temples all over India by fans praying for the recovery of an actor adored and respected for a career spanning decades.
“It feels like not only Amitabh Bachchan has fallen sick, but an entire generation has become sick,” Vijay Patodia, a member of the All Bengal Amitabh Bachchan Fans’ Association, said in a temple in Kolkata.
A spokeswoman for Nanavati hospital where the father and son are admitted declined any comment, saying the family will provide updates.
Bachchan is a prolific Twitter user and had announced his illness on Saturday after he was admitted to hospital.
“Hope he, @juniorbachchan & his family recover from #Covid_19 very soon & released from hospital,” @jaikukki tweeted from the United States, along with a video of Bachchan singing a popular hymn.
There was no update from the family or hospital yesterday, but health officials had said on Sunday the father and son were stable.
Mumbai’s iconic lunchbox delivery men, the dabbawalas, performed a special ritual and prayed for the Bachchans’ early recovery.
“We have prayed for the early recovery of Bachchan and all other people in the country. We want the country to be rid of Covid-19 at the earliest,” said their spokesman.
The dabbawalas collect and deliver lunchboxes carrying hot food from homes and restaurants to people at their workplace in Mumbai.
Some people, however, said the Bachchans were privileged to have got top-class treatment immediately while many others struggled with a shortage of hospital beds, medics and medicines in major cities.
“Without any malice for them, and hoping that they get well soon, this only makes many wonder how easily they got beds while regular common ppl are struggling,” tweeted @rajneilkamath, a factchecker.
India, along with the United States and Brazil, tops the global caseload of infections.
It declared an early lockdown of its 1.3bn people in March but it has not been able to flatten the curve yet.
Cases of Covid-19 shot past 878,000 with a record 28,701 new infections reported yesterday, even as parts of the country went into fresh lockdowns.
India appears to have fared far better than many places in terms of the ratio of deaths to cases, with the official toll put at 23,174, but some independent observers believe the figures are unreliable as people who die with symptoms are not counted as victims unless they have been tested.Source:https://www.gulf-times.com/

There was an air of old-world elegance at "The Great Gatsby" world premiere in New York City on Wednesday night. A slew of celebrities attended the event at Lincoln Center. British starlet Carey Mulligan stood out on the red carpet wearing a strapless crimson gown, while Leonardo DiCaprio looked dapper in a navy blue suit with a closely clipped beard. The film centers on Nick Carraway (Tobey
Maguire), who leaves the Midwest in 1922 and goes to New York City during a time of loosening morals, jazz music, bootlegging and sky-rocketing stocks. Nick ends up in a circle of friends that includes millionaire partier Jay Gatsby (DiCaprio); his cousin Daisy Buchanan (Mulligan); and her philandering, rich husband, Tom (Joel Edgerton). Nick is drawn into the captivating world of the super wealthy and their illusions, loves and deceits. "The Great Gatsby" hits theaters on May 10. Beyonce And Andre 3000 Record 'Terrible' Cover Of Amy Winehouse's 'Back To Black' For 'The Great Gatsby': Beyonce and Andre 3000 recorded a cover of the late Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black"
for the soundtrack to "The Great Gatsby, and the song has been getting a lot of buzz in just a couple of days. The song, co-written by music producer Mark Ronson, debuted on Ronson's radio show "Authentic Sh*t" on New York City's East Village Radio on Saturday. "It's a wonderful sort of take on our song," Ronson said. "I'm flattered and honored. I know Amy would be too." Despite Ronson's praise for the song, the reception for it hasn't been good at all, as evidenced on Twitter -- especially from Amy's father, Mitch. Carey Mulligan 'Terrified' About Her 'Gatsby' Role: Carey Mulligan has become a nervous wreck while waiting to shoot The Great Gatsby - because director Baz Luhrmann is taking several months to cast her co-stars. The Brit saw off competition from the likes of Scarlett Johansson and Blake Lively to win the coveted role of Daisy Buchanan in Luhrmann's upcoming adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel. She was the Aussie moviemaker's first official casting for the new project, with Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, Joel Edgerton and Isla Fisher subsequently coming on-board over a period of several months. However, Mulligan admits the delay in shooting has left her feeling "terrified" as she worries about how to portray Buchanan and devours Fitzgerald's other works. She tells Empire magazine, "(I'm) terrified, of course I am. The whole thing was always meant to happen now, it's just (Luhrmann) cast me back then and then I think he started casting everybody else. (It was) just more time for me to freak out at home on my own. "(But) it's been so interesting, I've had so much time and
I've been able to read so much Fitzgerald. I've had a lot of time to get into it so I can't wait to start." Indian Icon Amitabh Bachchan Lands Hollywood Debut Opposite Leonardo DiCaprio: Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan is set to make his Hollywood debut in Leonardo DiCaprio's new movie The Great Gatsby. The veteran Indian actor has landed a role in the big screen adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic tale, as Meyer Wolfsheim - a Jewish man with a penchant for gambling. The filmmaker says, "(I am) personally thrilled that one of the world's greatest screen legends, Amitabh Bachchan, is joining the cast. "Over the years, Amitabh's films have made a tremendous impression on my life and work. His film Sholay was my introduction to Indian cinema." Starpluse.come, Image: flickr.com
Lata Mangeshkar talks about her plans for her music label LM Music...
Congratulations, you've launched your own record label L M Music. What are your plans for your music company? I believe you will now be singing with Mr. Amitabh Bachchan?
Yes! I want to sing with Amitji for sure. We had come together for a duet 'Yeh Kahan Aa Gye Hum' in Yash Chopraji's film Silsila many years ago. But we didn't record it together. I had sung my portion. And later Amitji had recited Javed Saab's poetry. What would you be recording with Mr. Bachchan? I believe he is keen to do shlokas of Lord Tirupati with me. I'd love to do this project with him. I've spoken to him about it already. He has also been kind enough to give the voiceover for an album of devotional songs by Suresh Wadkar released on our label. Suresh had recorded the Kabir Bhajans many years ago but never released the album. When I heard them I thought they just needed some brushing up. That's where Bachchan Saab's commentary came in. What are the other albums to be released on the L M Music Label? We've already released several spiritual albums, and a children's album by my sister Meena. In that album Meena's granddaughter has also sung. In fact during the music-label launch function on January 15, Meena's granddaughter kept rushing to the stage to repeatedly touch Amitabh Bachchanji's feet (laughs). I've also released an album of Bhakti geet 'Har Har Mahadev' with Shankar Mahadevan accompanying me. Then there is an album of Buddha chants entitled Buddham Sharman Gachchami featuring 11 artistes including Hariharan, Shankar Mahadevan, Pankaj Udhas, Anoop Jalota, my sister Asha and me. This is the first time I've sung in Pali. We also have classical vocalist Jeetendra Abhishek's son Shounak singing Bhau Geet for the first time. Shounak's sister who is my sister Meena's daughter-in-law has also sung in that album. The label launch function was attended by the likes of Mr. Bachchan, Neeta Ambani, Sridevi and Boney... Yes, a lot of distinguished people from the film industry showed up for the function. I am fortunate to have so many lovely people's best wishes. Whoever we invited showed up for the function. I am blessed. It was a quiet evening. Four of us Bachchan Saab, Neeta Ambaniji, Pandit Jasraj and I were on stage. Neetaji and Amitji are so busy yet they came to my function for their love of me. Pandit Jasraj is not well and yet he came. Jasrajji released the album. What has the feedback to your label been so far? The feedback to my music label has been heartening. I completed 70 years of singing in 2012. I am deeply indebted to the people of India for liking my voice for so many years. What would I have been if it wasn't for the love of the people? It's my duty to give something back to the music industry now. What are your future plans for the label? We've lots of plans. Usha Mangeshkar is ready to record an album of Garba songs. I also want to record Ghazals. I also want to record poems of Bachchan's Saab's father Shri Harivansh Rai Bachchan, selected by Amitji. We're only starting out. Any plans for upcoming singers? But my ardent wish is to create a platform for these children who are seen on reality shows after which they vanish from the music scene. They are known only as long as the show lasts. We want to create our own music show where winners from these shows get a second chance. Those selected from our show can go on to record songs on our label. I feel their talent and hard work are getting lost. Source: Hindustan Times, Image: https://upload.wikimedia.org

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who turned 70 today, says he never cared about his popularity but believed that one's outlook towards life matters the most. "Every human being will go through a phase when there are highs and lows. Everything that goes up also comes down. I don't think I am particularly different from anyone. We all have our highs and lows. It is just about what kind of attitude you have during the time," Bachchan said in an interview. "If you have success, you should know that it is going to be short lived and if you have lows and the courage to fight or an attempt to make a comeback, then all the best," he added. The Bollywood legend, who has appeared in over 180 films in his career spanning more than four decades, says his contemporary actors too are doing well in their capacity. "I never judge myself. I cannot say my contemporaries have been left behind me. That would be wrong. I have never paid attention to my popularity. People can write what they want to but it doesn't matter to me," he said. Bachchan said actors like Shatrughan Sinha, Vinod Khanna, Dharmendra and Rishi Kapoor are "very much active" and working in films. "Unfortunately, Shashi Kapoor is unwell or else I am sure he too would be active. "In fact, Vinod Khanna and Shatrughan Sinha have entered politics and are doing well... I feel I have been left behind by my contemporaries," he said. Bachchan, who acted only once with Dilip Kumar on screen- in 1982 hit 'Shakti', says the acting great is his idol. "Dilip saab and Waheedaji (Waheeda Rehman) are my favourite artists of all time and my idols even today. When it comes to the history of Indian cinema, I believe it can be easily divided into an era before Dilip Kumar, and after he joined films. There cannot be anyone like him," he said. All decked up from head to toe in heavy jewellery, Aishwarya Rai has shot for a photoshoot which shows her as a devi for Kalyan Jewellers, her latest endorsement. Surprisingly, the photo has Aishwarya flaunting a bit of skin.
Dressed in a skimpy choli, reminiscent of ancient times, Aishwarya is seen wearing an ornate flared salwar and draping a chiffon dupatta from the back. Her hairdo is as dramatic as it can get, and is adorned with strings of temple jewellery, mainly used in south Indian dance forms. The splendidmukut (crown) also catches our fancy. Since the collection is named Nimah-Divine -- one need not fuss about her look, dress, and flashing skin. Earlier when the first set of her images for Kalyan Jewellers were released, they were rumoured to be ‘highly photoshopped’ as Aishwarya looked relatively thin with her chubby cheeks transformed to high cheek bones. However this recent pic of hers has Ash in a voluptuous look. Since she is goddess-like in it, flab suits her. And to say that this image is indeed one of her best in recent times wouldn’t be wrong. Can you remember the time when you saw this beautiful lassie as a devi flaunting her curves? We know the answer. Here’s Aishwarya Rai posing for Kalyan Jewellers. Do you like her goddess avatar? Also catch her other photos from the shoot. *** Source: ApunKaChoice

Game show “Kaun Banega Crorepati”, to be hosted by megastar Amitabh Bachchan yet again, will be back in its prime time slot, channel officials said Tuesday. “It will be a prime time show. I can’t tell you the exact slot because we are in discussion we are brain storming the right time. But certainly it will be a prime time slot,” Sony Entertainment Television (SET) senior vice president and marketing head Danish Khan told IANS. “We have not decided the days but the talks are on. We will soon make an official announcement,” he added. KBC had been slotted for either 8.30 or 9 p.m. time band so far. The channel Thursday announced yet another marketing and communication campaign “Sirf Gyaan Hi Aapko Aapka Haq Dila Sakta Hai” as the communication theme for the upcoming season of the game show. “The challenge was how do we take the philosophy to the next level. We came up with ‘Gyaan hi aapko aapka haq dilata Hai’ because it’s a great factor to empower people. When you see the show you will see shades of that,” said Khan. “One of the most important part of the show is how we democratise the entire KBC. We have taken immense pain with lot of pleasure to ensure that we expand the base of KBC. Every time you are going to see KBC episode, you will see a small India.” Big B, who has been hosting various seasons of KBC for quite some time, will be seen again for the KBC 2012 as well. Khan says they can’t think of anyone else in his place. “There is absolutely nobody like Mr Bachchan. His appeal transcends across all the age groups. His command over the language – Hindi, English and many other local language, his humility and sincerity these are the factors that drives his popularity.” “And that brings immense popularity to our show. If reports are to be believed, Kareena Kapoor would work with Amitabh Bachchan in Prakash Jha's next, reports Mumbai Mirror. The two were last seen in Govind Nihlani's Dev but didn't share screen space. The two did not exactly share a cordial relationship after Karisma broke off her engagement with Abhishek Bachchan. But it seems the actors have decided to forget about their differences. "In Satyagrah, Kareena plays Ajay Devgn's ladylove and Amitabhji his mentor. Kareena's character has strong views on politics and when she realises Devgn is going astray, stands up against him and his teacher," a source told the tabloid. Kareena is portraying a strong role in the film. "She will share a interactive space with Bachchanji's character that will lend her immense power. After Madhuri Dixit in Mrityudand, Kareena in Satyagrah is perhaps the director's second strongest leading lady," added theImage Link Flickr, Source: Hindustan Times
