Tom Cruise is 'working on Top Gun 3' with new production despite contract with rival studio

Los Angeles, (IANS) Hollywood star Tom Cruise is working on ‘Top Gun 3’ with Paramount, despite his huge deal with a rival studio.

The 61-year-old actor, who is best known for starring as IMP agent Ethan Hunt in much-loved franchise ‘Mission: Impossible’ and Pete Mitchell in ‘Top Gun’, is developing a new sequel of the latter, reports Mirror.co.uk.

As per reports, Tom is working alongside Paramount to produce a new ‘Top Gun’ movie, despite having just signed a deal with Warner Brothers.

Just a few days ago, Tom and Warner Brothers' chief David Zaslav shook hands when they announced the ‘Mission: Impossible’ star was being brought in as a key producer for several franchise films with the iconic film studios

As per Mirror.co.uk, despite him now working with rival studio Warner Brothers, Tom is working on a new ‘Top Gun’ movie with Paramount, with "a script being written" by Maverick writer Ehren Kruger.

The likes of Miles Teller and Glen Powell are all expected to return for the third instalment of the hit movie franchise. Although the news of a new ‘Top Gun’ sequel has only just emerged, ‘The Hollywood Reporter’ has said "the reality is this sequel has quietly been in development since late fall."

They also said that fans should not expect to see the new ‘Top Gun’ movie in the near future, because the legendary action-movie actor is currently working on an 8th ‘Mission: Impossible movie’, "which will keep him occupied until at least its release, currently set for May 2025."This comes after Tom signed a deal to develop and produce theatrical films with Warner Bros. Discovery. The movies that he will work on will also star him, with the deal dubbed as a "strategic partnership". A Good Day to Die Hard

A few days ago I was asked a hypothetical question. “If you could stop one person working in cinema forever, who would it be?” The usual names flew through my head: Michael Bay, Adam Sandler, M Night Shyamalan, Uwe Boll, maybe Brett Ratner. But I took the high ground, saying that even if I didn’t like (or even outright despised) these people’s work, I didn’t think they shouldn’t be making films. But last night I saw A Good Day to Die Hard and things have changed. Director John Moore should never, ever be allowed on a film set again for the rest of his natural life. A Good Day to Die Hard is a staggeringly incompetent, borderline unwatchable film. From top to bottom it’s total shit. The more you think about it the worse it
gets, each layer you peel back revealing something fouler. Before seeing this I had relatively high hopes - the original Die Hard is perfectly constructed, and the two subsequent sequels are not without their charms. I definitely saw Die Hard 4.0 on it’s 2007 release, but it’s probably telling that I can remember

Parents Fuming Over Suri Cruise's Enrollment At New School

The enrollment of Tom Cruise's daughter at a posh New York City school has parents upset over concerns their children will be negatively affected by swarms of photographers. This autumn the movie star's six year old with ex-wife Katie Holmes will attend Avenues, a $39,750-a-year private school that specializes in a global curriculum and some moms and dads are worried their uniform-clad daughters will be mistaken for Suri Cruise. They are calling for a crackdown on paparazzi outside the academy. Education consultant Dana Haddad tells the New York Post, "I had two different parents call to tell me their children are beautiful young girls that look like Suri. Is The Expendables 2 A New Action Classic Or A Waste Of Explosions?

Two years after Sylvester Stallone united a dream team of 80s action stars (plus Jason Statham and Jet Li) to kick some ass in a foreign jungle the gang is largely back together again for The Expendables 2, which adds even more muscle to the call sheet if you can believe it. Suri Cruise to attend private Chelsea school

Suri Cruise may be tiny but her red pouting lips, off-shoulder dresses and snazzy golden heels have ensured that her fashion following is huge! Here's a look at Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' fashionista daughter's style statements.

Katie Holmes has enrolled her 6-year-old daughter Suri in a private school in Manhattan. According to Life and Style magazine, Avenues is a nearly $40,000 a year private school, which is opening this fall in Manhattan. “Katie has eagerly been telling Suri all about the lunchrooms, basketball courts and different activities Avenues offers. Suri’s really excited about it,” the New York Post quoted a source as telling the mag. At the 215,000-square-foot school, Suri will learn Spanish or Mandarin, along with the basics: reading, writing, math, science and music. The school overlooks the High Line and is just blocks from Holmes’ Chelsea apartment. Avenues calls itself a “world school” and will have branches in China, India, Africa and Europe. Source: Hindustan Times

Katie Holmes finds Tom Cruise is "Mission: Impossible"

LOS ANGELES: Actress Katie Holmes has filed for divorce from her superstar husband Tom Cruise, ending a six-year marriage that produced one daughter and captivated celebrity watchers worldwide. Holmes filed papers in New York City on Thursday, citing irreconcilable differences and seeking sole custody of the couple's six-year-old daughter Suri in a move that came "out of the blue" for the "Mission: Impossible" actor, said one source with knowledge of the situation. The source said Cruise is out of the country filming a movie in Iceland and the filing came as a surprise. The actor's spokeswoman issued a brief statement, saying: "Kate has filed for divorce and Tom is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children. Please allow them their privacy to work this out." No further comment was made Los Angeles-based attorney Bert Fields, who has represented Cruise in other matters but is not handling the divorce, confirmed the filing but declined to give further details. "Tom wants to be very private," Fields said. Earlier on Friday, People magazine quoted Holmes' attorney Jonathan Wolfe as calling it "a personal and private matter for Katie and her family ...
