Although the Sitaare Zameen Par review ratings have accorded the film a favorable rating of 3.5 stars by critics, the first day Sitaare Zameen Par box office collection is a humble beginning to the comeback film by the superstar.

But Indian cinema isn’t just about Bollywood. Regional film production centres across India like Kollywood (the Tamil film industry) and Tollywood (Telugu film industry) add their unique colours. India is now the global leader in film outputs, with an astonishing 1,500 to 2,000 films released each year in more than 20 different languages.

And the 57-year-old King Khan has been a pillar of Bollywood ever since he broke through with the 1992 film Deewana.

To truly grasp SRK’s impact on Indian cinema, let’s rewind to the 1990s – a golden era of Bollywood brimming with iconic Indian films and unforgettable performances.

During this time, a young man without any industry connections in a world built on family ties was about to shape the future of Indian cinema.

In 1995, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge hit the screens. Directed by the legendary Aditya Chopra, this film told a captivating love story transcending all boundaries.

SRK’s portrayal of Raj wasn’t just a character, it was emotion.

With its enchanting music and a storyline that captured the essence of young love and tradition, the film became a sensation within and beyond India, uninterruptedly running for more than two decades (it’s still running today!) in Mumbai’s Maratha Mandir theatre.

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’s staggering success made SRK a star, or perhaps it was the other way around: SRK made DDLJ.

His later films like Dil Se (1998), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998) and others solidified his status as the king of romance. These timeless classics not only tugged at heartstrings, but also paved the path for his incredible cinematic journey.

In the 2000s, he continued to shine with family and romantic hits like Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham (2001) and Kal Ho Na Ho (2003). He experimented with versatile roles in films like Swades (2004) and Chak De India (2007), while venturing into film production with his own Red Chillies Entertainment Limited.

As the years rolled on, SRK represented Indian cinema globally with films such as Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012) and Chennai Express (2013). Jump to 2023. After a four-year hiatus from the big screen, the king returned with three promised films in one year, and audiences worldwide eagerly awaited to see if his magic still held sway.

Pathaan, with its phenomenal dance, didn’t just meet expectations – it smashed them. It broke box office records and earned global acclaim, showcasing SRK’s unparalleled star power.

This action thriller has become India’s highest-grossing Hindi film ever, and the first Bollywood film to earn more than US$100 million (A$155 million) without a release in China.

Pathaan’s success was a testament to the love fans hold for SRK, reaffirming his charisma as irresistible as ever.

Anticipation for Jawan and Dunki

Jawan, which premiered in Australia on Sept. 7, became the first Indian film ever to claim the top spot in both the Australian and neighbouring New Zealand box offices on its first day. Dear Zindagi (2016) explores mental health and personal growth, breaking stereotypes about therapy and self-discovery.

My Name Is Khan (2010) addresses the complexities of racial profiling and discrimination in the post-9/11 world. Its iconic line “My Name is Khan, but I am not a terrorist” transcended national borders and touched hearts across the globe.

In Swades (2004), SRK’s heartfelt portrayal of a NASA scientist’s return to his homeland mirrors the Indian diaspora’s yearning for roots and ignited a dialogue on the duty of reconnecting with one’s homeland.

Calling himself a dream seller who peddles love to millions of people in his 2017 TED talk, Khan’s influence is proof to the enduring power of storytelling, and the ability of cinema to connect people across cultures.

He is one of Time’s 100 most influential people of 2023. His fans even set a Guinness World Record for the most people performing his iconic pose.

Many have labelled SRK’s 2023 as a comeback, but the superstar himself seems not to believe in this notion. Quoting a line from the Hollywood film Gattaca (1997), SRK tweeted, “I never saved anything for the swim back”.

Salman-Katrina rock in Tiger 3 song Leke Prabhu ka naam

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif are back again, looking electrifying together and dancing their hearts out in Leke Prabhu ka naam from the forthcoming Diwali release, Tiger 3.

Salman and Katrina have reprised their iconic characters, super-agents, Tiger and Zoya, from the YRF Spy Universe and the two superstars last danced together in Swag se swagat from Tiger Zinda Hai in 2017. This time, they show off more of their incredible chemistry and look drop-dead gorgeous in the dance track composed by Pritam, written by Amitabh Bhattacharya and sung by Arijit Singh and Nikhita Gandhi. The Tamil and Telugu versions have been rendered by Benny Dayal and Anusha Mani.

Leke Prabhu ka naam has been shot on an extremely grand-scale in the exotic locations in Cappadocia, Turkey. Choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant, who had directed Swag se swagat, is back to make the couple dance again on this one.

Director Maneesh Sharma says, “Katrina’s ethereal beauty and the chemistry between the two make it the perfect formula to have everyone dancing! We had a lot of fun filming in Cappadocia and this will be another huge dance chartbuster to add to the already enviable list of successes that Salman and Katrina have had together.”

Salman and Katrina are already thrilled with the unanimously positive response to the trailer and the love people are showering on them. One of our most popular on-screen couples, their most popular outing is the Tiger franchise.

Aamir Khan is busy promoting his most anticipated film - Laal Singh Chaddha on all platforms. The Hindi remake of the 1994 Hollywood classic Forrest Gump stars Kareena Kapoor, Naga Chaitanya and Mona Singh in pivotal roles. Soon after the film's teaser and trailer was unveiled, many took to social media demanding a boycott of the film. In the last few weeks, ‘boycott Laal Singh Chaddha' has been one of the top trends on social media. And now, Aamir Khan has reacted to the whole controversy. Appealing to people of the nation, Khan said that many people strongly believe it in their hearts that he doesn't like India. The Thugs of Hindostan actor added that it is entirely untrue and it pains him to see this. Khan also added that it is unfortunate because it is not the case. He appealed to the people of the country and urged them not to boycott his film. He went on to add, "In their hearts they believe, but it is untrue. It is rather unfortunate that some people feel that way. That's not the case. Please don't boycott my film. Please watch my film." Back in 2016, Aamir had clarified his statement on 'unsafe' India which had triggered nationwide outrage. "I never said India was intolerant or I wanted to leave the country. I also understand the emotions of those who were hurt. I would like to say that my statement was misunderstood and to some extent media is responsible for it. Bollywood`s Shah Rukh Khan invests in American cricket


After buying teams in the multi-billion-dollar cricketing tournaments, Indian Premier League (IPL) and the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has invested in the future of American cricket.

Shah Rukh's Knight Riders Group has bought the Los Angeles franchise that is slated to play in the upcoming Major League Cricket in the US. Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla and her husband Jay Mehta are co-owners of the Knight Riders Group.

In a statement on Tuesday, 55-year-old Shah Rukh said, "For several years now, we have been expanding the Knight Riders brand globally and closely watching the potential for T20 cricket in the USA."

"We are convinced that Major League Cricket has all the pieces in place to execute on its plans and we look forward to making our partnership an enormous success in the coming years," the superstar, also known as King Khan, added.

Cricket in the US is a sport played at the amateurs, clubs, intercollegiate and international competition levels with little popularity.

Venky Mysore, CEO of Knight Riders Group, said, "As T20 cricket expands internationally, we are flattered by the regular inbound requests to play a major role in growing the sport abroad. Our expansion into the US is consistent with our long-term strategy."

Shah Rukh, who began his acting career with appearances in several TV series in the late 1980s, made his Bollywood debut in 1992. He has acted in over 80 films in his nearly 30-year career.

Early in his career, Shah Rukh was recognized for portraying villainous roles in the films, Baazigar (1993), Darr (1993), and Anjaam (1994). However, he shot to fame in a romantic blockbuster, 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge', in 1995.

After a series of hits from 1997 to 200, he went on to earn critical acclaim for his portrayal of an alcoholic in 'Devdas' (2002), a NASA scientist in 'Swades' (2004), a hockey coach in 'Chak De! According to the sources, Shah Rukh Khan has desired to make a remake of Tamil Film ‘Vikram Vedha’ which is a story about the life of a police officer coping with North Madras rowdy. The movie ‘Vikram Vedha’ is staring R. Madhavan, and is directed by S. Sashikanth and releasing in 2018.

However, there are rumors in the air that the Vikram Vedha director S. Sashikanth has himself stated that he could make a remake of his movie under collaboration of both the production houses (Reliance Entertainment with Y Not Studios). The actual cast is not decided yet. But there are rumors that having the overall cast of this Tamil Thriller/Action to be framed in the Hindi remake. Well, let’s hope that SRK will also be a part of the big screen in this project!
6. Rajkumar Hirani’s Upcoming (untitled)

Since we have Salman Kahn in the lead role, then expecting some bone crunching, face smashing action sequences is fair. Sohail has very smartly brought in the combative progression and Salman enjoys every bit of it. Alongside goes the blooming romancebetween Salman Khan and Daisy Shah. Debutant Daisy Shah is impressive in her role. Other actors Suniel Shetty, Ashmit Patel, Yash Tonk, Bruna Abdullah and Sana Khan are equally good in their roles. The BrandLaureate Legendary Award has been earlier given to the likes of former South African president Nelson Mandela, Nobel Laureate Mohammad Yunus, Indian businessman Ratan Tata, late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, Facebook CEO Marck Zuckerburg and F1 ace Michael Schumacher. Shahrukh Khan has received the BrandLaureate Legendary Award for his contribution to the Hindi film industry, and for being India's foremost brand ambassador in Malaysia. SRK was in Malaysia to attend the birthday party of Prime Minister Mahathir bin Mohammad Thursday evening. "It is an honour to be given the BrandLaureate Legendary Award. Actress Katrina Kaif has topped the list of perfect matches for Bollywood's famous bachelor, and her former beau, Salman Khan, according to a survey by a matrimonial site. The survey by shaadi.com covered 21,000 respondents, and 69.84 percent believed that Katrina Kaif, 28, would make an ideal wife for Salman Khan, 47. Another interesting survey around the Dabangg star reveals that 62 percent of Indian men don't want the actor to get married at all while 60.37 percent women want him to settle down as soon as possible. In the survey, several fans from the south would like to see Salman's Dabangg 2 co-star Sonakshi Sinha as his off-screen life partner too while north Indians won't mind seeing southern actress Asin as his better half in real life. "Most individuals associate themselves with a celebrity at some point in their life.
